Smashed Tuna Toast

I’ve recently become a morning gym gal recently, so I did some bro math and found that this is the ultimate post gym meal. Tuna has one of the highest protein levels per 100g, then combining with cottage cheese and serving on sourdough - puts this at 40g of protein in just 5 minutes. And for my cycle syncing ladies - this is great during ovulation when you’re also at performance peak.

Ingredients for your ovulatory phase: tuna During the ovulatory phase, estrogen and testosterone surge, so you want to eat foods that help your body balance out the spike in estrogen and support the heart.

Tuna is high in omega-3s which is great during ovulation because it boosts mood, busts stress, and is anti-inflammatory. Higher levels can help with acne, fibroids, breast tenderness, PCOS, and acne! It is also high in vitamin D which can increase FSH sensitivity and increase progesterone production, which is important if you’re trying to conceive!

Smashed Tuna Toast

Serves: 1 Active Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 slice sourdough

  • 1 can of tuna

  • 1/2 avocado

  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese

  • 2 tbsp parsley

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • red chili flakes

Process

  1. Place all ingredients onto a cutting board and chop it up so that it's evenly mixed. It should be chunky, but unified.

  2. Toast your sourdough, then add the chopped tuna mixture on top! It was too much for one piece of toast for me, so I ate the rest with a fork! But you could also do lettuce cups or eat more toast!
