Ingredients
1 cup milk
3 eggs
1/2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tbsp cinnamon
4 slices brioche
butter, for the pan
1 banana
1/2 cup pecans
1/8 cup brown sugar
maple syrup to serve
Process
In a large baking dish, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Put the brioche in the mixture, letting it sit for 20 seconds on each side to soak in.
Butter a pan over medium heat. Add the soaked brioche slices on. Let cook for around 2-3 minutes each side.
To make the caramelized bananas, slice a banana into thin pieces. Put the brown sugar in a bowl, with the banana slices, and mix them together.
Butter a pan over medium-high heat. Be generous with the butter! Add pecans into the pan to candy them. After around 3 minutes, flip the banana slices. They should be a golden brown color.
Serve by putting the caramelized bananas, candied pecans, and maple syrup on top of the french toast
